Literally the whole point of Agalloch is that they were trash at bm and pretty trash at folk but somehow made great atmospheres over being magically trash at both at the same time so I don't think this argument stands

I'd like to think Agalloch is amazing at being folksy, rather great at being blackened (in their own way), amazing at being post-metally and atmospheric, and combined those attributes into an astounding musical amalgam which continuous to mesmerize me to this day. Stop being such negative nancies you people.
