Outside is great but a bit too long. Def underrated tho.
This one sits behind Low and Heroes as his third best imo.

Ehhh I can see why people think Outside is overlong, but this just can't sit comfortably behind the likes of Low and Heroes while Scary Monsters and Station to Station are both the cream of the crop -- mind you, your mileage may vary and there really isn't any right or wrong way to go about it. I am, however, interested in why people rank this that high. Am I missing something here?

I love the shit out of Scary Monsters and for sure would put that one high up, still needa check out Station to Station.
I just find this one to be one of Bowies most emotionally engaging albums (Not just due to the concept, lyrics, and context of the album though those certainly help) I also feel like he went out with a pretty leftfield bang in terms of experimentation, this one sounds nothing like any of his previous stuff (least from what ive heard). It was also the first Bowie album I got around to checking.

Station to station is my favorite Bowie by far and that's saying something. It's just a bunch of rock bangers and cool song writing and lyrics you can shout in the car.
All jokes aside, this man touched my soul like few people have. He lives on thru me in his music rip hard

Actually I wouldn't say "by far". Ziggy, this and hunky dory come close

I dont dislike Ziggy but ngl I prefer Aladdin Sane and The Man Who Sold the World over it. I get that its his classic but im not as sold on it.
Hunky Dory isnt really my thing and out of the Bowie ive heard its my least favorite (I havent heard any of his really lowly rated material btw).
I will certainly be checking Station to Station as a lot of peeps say its one of his top records.

Aladdin Dane is amazing and tmwstw is also great. Hunky dory is pretty great overall for me but quicksand is like the best song ever made probs

Also, despite some saying otherwise, Lodger is a really good record as well.

Album gets too brushed aside for being sandwiched between Heroes and Scary Monsters.

Iconic as they come.

Title track is up there with the best songs ever for me.
Only Bowie could release something so experimental and dense 40+ years into his career.

Agreed pleb.
This is one off stuff. Credit to the players on this thing though. New York jazz types melting face.

Yeah the instrumentation here is class.
Lazarus hits so hard with the accompanying music video, haven't watched it since it came out tbh.
When he closes the wardrobe at the end, really choked me up.
