Jeff ain't the fastest though. That doesn't mean he isn't great. There are better singers out there though. Just my opinion. Patton is white and from a technical standpoint better for example. There's also Stevie Wonder, James Brown, Prince, Marvin Gaye. You telling me Jeff is better than all those names?

Though it's completely subjective, for me there has to be significant pleasantness to the voice of anyone being considered the greatest. Apart from his croon and the occasional cool scatty scream thing, Patton doesn't really have much texture or depth to his voice imo. As someone previously mentioned, Jeff's voice is like velvet, even when he's pushing it to the limit.
I'm not inside-out acquainted with the discogs of the others but I've never heard any of them do anything close to the climax of the t/t here, which Jeff performed near-perfectly live. WIlling to be proved wrong.
But yeah Jeff's not even my all-time favourite vocalist lol, the fastest analogy was wrong as he's definitely not the most technical singer. The 'most naturally gifted' comment was more that it seems to come effortlessly to him every time you see him perform, like that voice is a God-given gift.

It's dumb yeah. Sometimes Jeff can do a little too much for my tastes though especially when he goes into his "squeezed balls vibrato". I'll just call it that I think you know what I mean.
