By the way i have been trying to find other albums with this type of sound but haven't been very succesfull beyond maybe Invent, Animate. Even though i do find this more melodic, if that makes sense.
Any suggestions guys?
I feel dumb talking music because to me it's like, it sounds good and makes my head bang so it must be good. Describing why it's better beyond just musical prowess or novelty is hard.

Novelists FR is the band you're looking for.
"If you're suggesting ERRA is better than the 'Verge, I'll gladly keep my distance."
Uh-buh-bye. Don't let the door hit you on your way out.

@Veks don't feel dumb about it, man. sometimes all you can really say is "this rocks and i like it".
my input on getting better with that sort of thing, is that it just comes with time. the more music you listen to, the more you can get a feel for what scratches a certain itch and what doesn't - vocal delivery, lyrics, styles of playing, instrumental tones, etc. i'm certainly not as adept as other users here but just casually browsing here for a couple months has helped me a lot. be open-minded and you'll find more good music than you'll know what to do with
and yeah 'Verge is better than Erra :>

@Veks check out Pathos by The Antikythera Mechanism. Its like Erra but heavier and more progressive. Vocalist sounds a lot like this one too.

the vocals are one of the reasons i really can't get into this tbh, at least the cleans. the lead sounds like Spencer Sotelo cut his balls off

i mean, hes a pretty standard clean vocalist sound in the scene. could say that about any singer

Yea the cleans are garbage for the most part ngl. I can ignore them tho cus the harsh vocals are incredible and the riffs are fun.
