I love Suite Sister Mary, but I never play it on its own due to its album-specific context. It would be like playing The Trial independent of the rest of The Wall, lol

Bohemian Rhapsody is another one that shouldn't be played outside its album. Unfortunately it has been.

^ Completely agree, that song is way better in the context of A Night at the Opera. Perfect way to wrap the album up before the outro

"Koris gonna need you to link your power metal band asap"

lol don't worry, I'll form one eventually. At least I know I've got the vox for it 😅

This prob applies to most King Crimson songs of the Court-Red period as well (if not all of them).

I’m not sure if I could definitively say what the best song is here but my gut reaction is to just say Anarchy X going into Revolution Calling. Just amazing guitar work, obv incredible vocal delivery. I love that riff that kicks off Revolution Calling so much, and the lyrics are just as relevant today (if not more so) as they were during the Reagan administration.

Each of these songs is ace in their own way, but I've always felt The Mission is the crowning achievement.

^that one used to be my fave, but I've come to prefer Eyes of a Stranger.

Mission still has an epic solo tho, no question.

Can't argue with anyone having literally any favorite on this one, as it was mine at least once in the last thirty years as well.

I've been back around on speak the last few years actually. Absolute ripper. I'm mesmerized by how perfectly it shifts the tone of the album, how they really don't have another song like it in the catalogue.

Might also help that I've been trying to play that opening riff correctly forever, but it doesn't seem like I have the mechanical capability. Had the solo in the bag for years but my right hand just refuses to cooperate for the intro riff lol.

The guitar melody from the end of I Don't Believe in Love to the beginning of My Empty Room is genius

The seamless transition from I Don’t Believe in Love to Waiting for 22 is just godly.

Yeah, you have to look at the tracklist to realize they're separate tracks.
