Maybe it’s the overall more direct punchy sound that hasn’t resonated with me. I miss the quieter spacey elements I think, and the emphasis on atmosphere."

I'd take isis over neurosis, but yeah. I'd stack these three up against any three from any of the others, and it's better IMO. Cult of Luna is my favorite band and has been for a decade, but even my personal favs of ADTF / SATH / Mariner don't beat these three.
