I consider myself a lifelong 3EB fan and I think their new album is pretty underwhelming as well.

What're your guys' favorite tracks from the new album?

I like Something in You, though I can only dream of the guitar Cadogan would lay down at the end of it if he was still in the band. I dig the new album but the guitar is non existent on so many tracks. Everything is Easy, Dopamine, Blade and Say It are great too.

The new one could have been written by One Direction to be honest. It's better than that, but instrumentally it's kind of just basic pop.

I always dream about what Cadogan would do were he still in 3EB, hah. If only. I've only listened to the new album once or twice; I still haven't formed a strong opinion of it. Seems like a 3-3.5 for me right now, though.

Agreed sowing. I enjoy Jenkins voice and lyrics but what made 3EB work was the catchy guitar riffs. Almost all of their famous songs are instantaneously recognizable within the first few seconds from their unmistakable riffs. I honestly can't pick out any riffs on this record. Stephan has taken it upon himself to prove to the world he is 3EB and sadly he was just a piece of the puzzle and it simply doesn't work without collaboration from the rest of the group.

Do you know what Cadogan has done lately, JWT? I followed him for a bit with the whole Radio Angel band--is that still going on? Have they released anything (online even)?

Last I heard Cadogan had paired up with Arion and performing under the moniker XEB but I don't think they ever produced any music, just some shows replaying 3EB songs.

You can say that again. Perfect marriage of nostalgia, musicianship, lyrics and emotion.

Funny thing is I feel like the album matures with you. I used to latch onto the singles and poppier songs, but after a few rough breakups and losing friends in drunk driving accidents, songs like God of Wine, The Background, Motorcycle Drive By resonate so much more with me than ever before.
