Please god let them stay with these song lengths. This album is great the way it is.

They won't write 10 minute songs, they're (thankfully) not Between the Buried and Me. Writing technical songs that are that long is pompous and arrogant. Rody's technique is fine, also. Inconsistent live but he's young.

Yeah I don't want PTH to descend into Colors levels of wankery (granted Rody is a much better vocalist than Tommy). I dig how they make the songs short, but there are so many musical turns that keep it interesting anyways.

Personally I'm not into lengthy songs, I skip it within the first 4-5 minutes anyway. I enjoy Goddess Gagged because it's so short and ends so abruptly. Leaves me wanting more - then I put it back on for another spin.

On a side note, I'm surprised this hasn't been oversaturated for me, I've been playing it a lot. But then again, I switch it up with different genres...

Silent Circus is a 4.5, Alaska is a 3-3.5, so is Colors and so is the s/t. If my ratings say otherwise, they're out of date. Fact is they're an enjoyable band with a ridiculous amount of flaws, and unlike other people I'm willing to call them on it. They force a lot, their lyrics are atrocious, their vocals are garbage and their ideas are regurgitative, but in spite of that, they're enjoyable.

I will admit BtBaM have flaws but so does this album some of which are the same. A lot of the album, because of it's riffs can't repeat theory, makes parts feel disjointed much like the disjointedness BtBaM creates but I think both overcome this.

I don't know who said it but i agree with the fact that i think they should lengthen songs if only to provide less disjointedness. Though I want a 15 minute epic as well but maybe that wouldn't work for them.

I think it's fair to say that we honestly don't know whether PTH could write a long song and make it work until they do it, if they ever do.

I don't think they need to make a 10 minute song. They're perfectly fine writing 4-5 minute songs.

On another note, Bloodmeat is really fun to drum to.
