I stand by what I said 10 years ago. I don't want to elaborate too much as I think it speaks for itself. Funny you bring up New Grass though as it's one of the worst tracks on the album. From 3:30 onward to its ridiculous 9-minute finish mark it's pretty much non-music to me. It's fucking elevator fare. The album is boring at its best and irritating at its worst. Also every time Hollis sings on this I wonder how many quaaludes he has taken. The only comparable album in my 5s would be BoC and there's not a boring part of Music Has the Right to Children whereas Laughing Stalk is the album equivalent to an Ambien.

This is in my top 5 favorite albums by anyone, really nothing else like it out there.

Yea Mark Hollis's solo album is underrated and excellent. Like an even more minimalist evolution from Spirit of Eden and this.
