MegaDave and Marty Friedman are both to blame for this joke of an album. Dave Mustaine's goal of going for a #1 album and Marty Friedman's push to play pop music.
You could say that some of these tracks could have done well for some other musicians solo album. One track there is no excuse for... Crush 'Em. 'Crush, crush, crushhhhh... urggggurgle.' Ridiculous discoesque poppy sport anthem garbage.
The best tracks on this album are Wanderlust, Seven, and Time: The Beginning. At least the guitar work and vocals are great on those tracks.
This album is a total departure from Cryptic Writings. Be warned this is no heavy metal.
It would take Megadeth 5 years to get back on track. The following album would be as terrible as Risk.
