I can agree the heavier parts don't land the best and maybe not my fav production, but I've heard a lot worse in the current era of shiny metalcore

listening to this in full properly, i did enjoy it more than i thought (mostly the softer songs like The Way It Breaks), but still think these guys are just super overrated.
i find it baffling they position themselves as and are considered a 'metalcore' band. i mean i know genres are just a concept but its such a misleading label given their sound. this feels like its has much more in common with industrial or even digital hardcore given how overly processed and digitized it sounds.
can totally see it playing better on speakers instead of headphones, it sounds design to boom out speakers and suffocate you in noise rather than have you pick out the detail. i mean the guitars are so downtuned they dont even sound like guitars let alone have actual riffs
maybe id enjoy this more if it wasnt glazed so hard as the future of metal. idk ill give it a few more spins over the next while before writing it off

enjoyed it more than the last one at least

Half way thru this and I hate the production, it's ruining the album. Also where are the riffs?

Fuckin love the prod. I’ll take this over the 1,800th generic metalcore prod

Yeah this fucking sucks, maybe it could be a 3-3.5 with good production but guess we'll never know.

I can’t imagine imagine even getting 90 seconds into the second track and thinking “this production sucks”. Shit’s cool as fuck. There’s always BVB and Falling in Reverse for the rest of you boobie heads

I think Theres a big middle ground between those 2 extremes of squeaky clean radio slop and bricked out noise. Some of us just want to be able to hear the actual riffs, given how much some bang on about how masterful the compositions supposedly are.

All of Loathes music has grown on with me with more listens. This album being a masterpiece by listen 3. That being said, when there’s mixed reviews on here, I know the album is worth a listen at least more than once.

Agreed this does grow on you (even the production), after a few listens I just think it could have trimmed a track or two in the middle. Which honestly is how I felt about I Let It In anyway as well

I would have never expected this band to be so divisive.
Anyway, I saw them live last year and they killed it.
