Not really getting the 40WS debate, this is so close to WFaD it could have been made 1 year later, not 20 years later. Like there is basically no massive distinction in the sound or approach between the 2 (at least that I'm picking up). Obviously that's a good thing if you like WFaD (which I do).

I find Patrick's approach interesting and unique, it's almost painfully bare bones in that there is basically zero flair (no solos, no mid song switches, there are moelodies but no hooks etc) and the focus is on going as slow and dragged out as possible. It def allows his incredible vocals to shine. It gets a bit one note for me personally but I am digging the bookends and Stations a lot on first couple of listens.

Theres something charming about how simple the songs are, usually its boring but idk what it is about his approach but it just works

less is def more here. if he had released like 8 albums like this over the last 20 years or whatever it'd probably wear thin and be pretty boring. 2 releases like this in 20 years is aura tho
