You wanna know another reason why I hate OSDM? I have listened to all the most famous music genres growing up. In metal it was thrash, in hip hop it was 90s boom bap, in rock it was classic rock. I've heard these genres over and over again in my adolescence. Over and over again the same Metallica songs, the same Tupac songs, the same The Beatles songs. My brother loved Morbid Angel and other death metal bands. Do I listen to any of these bands now? Fuck no. I simply find all of these artists have named to be primitive by this point, legitimately. I do not feel the urge to listen to ANY of these artists anymore, cause I'd rather see these genres EVOLVE, and not recycle the same ideas over and over again for the rest of eternity. I even see millennials my age no longer checking out any new music anymore. They'd rather just listen to Linkin Park, Evanescence, A Day to Remember for the a millionth time, and not even their new shit, their 2000s shit. I refuse to be like that. I refuse to be stagnant with my music taste.

I actually don't like Linkin Park that much because they're too brutal for me. It's like Defeated Sanity but just more straight forward, so I feel you on that one dude

This was actually a somewhat productive argument before page 6 when all the stupid entered the thread. Completely lost the plot thanks to one very impaired opinion. It's like entering a pissing contest only to show off how well you can piss in your own face.

Jammed a single off this to see what the hype is about. Don’t think this is for me and the vocals are kinda silly

Vocals may sound silly but the dude is singing at a blistering pace using inhales and exhales. He's literally maintaining his breathing while singing at the same time. Takes a lot of practice and skill to do that convincingly.

Definitely can recognize the talent and vocal skill, I just think I'm picky when it comes to tech/prog death

he's got the squeals and growls too. he does a bit of everything here but his bread is buttered with the rap vox and mad impressive to me how he's able to do that.
