I really liked the singles but was worried to finish this after seeing all the negative comments about the back half. I ended up enjoying this quite a bit. Might be more of a megadeth apologist than I realized. This may be my favorite album from them since endgame. Obey the Call might be my favorite off this.

I actually thought Dave sounds ok minus his RTL version. I mean he's not Halford but was he ever?

Yeah, exactly. He's really not that far off from his base and he's playing within structure.

yeah the RTL cover is a cool, but it has no replay value. it's strange they didn't try doing something at least a little different, even the drumming is 95% the same shit Lars played. I guess if you pretend the original never existed, it's the best song on the album. but it's more a novelty song than anything.

the rtl cover pisses me off.

Mustaine is just a poor, unskilled front man, not a singer so I don't get the comparisons with obvious vocally gifted singers who by their nature will be more conscious about their vocal preservation. But it's true his current condition does get in the way of appreciating the rest of the album.

Love it! Swap another bad day with bloodlust and it would be a perfect send off for me, but still great imo.

'Mustaine is just a poor, unskilled front man, not a singer'
Honestly, in the era of Motley Crue hair metal and quasi operatic heavy metal vocals like Dio/Bruce Dickinson, the fact he sang with this bratty punk edge was a huge positive when Megadeth arrived on the scene for me.
After cancer and years on the road his voice is spent now but he's still got enough to give to the fans, that's all you can say.

I actually enjoyed this! Some lyrics are cringe but the instrumentals are pretty cool. I was expecting a bit more from the Metallica cover I guess, something different than the original, but it was a good listen all in all!

I have this weird feeling that we have not heard the last from Dave. It's just not in his character to just retire quietly and disappear into the sunset...

I mean Dave's vocal was one of the bands trademarks. It used to be fun and still great when you listen to their albums before dystopia/thirteen not anymore

Can't wait for his dad-rock solo album approx. 3 years from now.

Cool album yeah. Nothing to special but its on par with the last one and far from their worst effort it's a 3-3.5 or so from me decent album

It's a fun one, nothing super substantive but it brings some bouncy riffs, so I don't have a lot of complaints.

Puppet Parade is my favorite. The harmonious chorus gives me a strong Countdown / Youthanasia vibe. Dave found his sweet spot with the vocals as well. Great song!
