I wish they would remaster Punishment. My big qualm with it is Rons vocals are buried too far beneath the instruments.

I honestly can't stand remasters, even when they're warranted. I much prefer just to hear the originals as they were recorded.

after many repeat listens i say this album is very, very good.

Album Rating: 4.2
Album went to the top of the trending stack when it was released.
Days before year end, it's going uphill again, amidst traditional sputnikcore stuff like Deftones, Deafheaven etc..
I haven't seen this pattern before, with any album.

Album Rating: 4.5
Love seeing this come out and back in of the Trending section.

There is no way in Zeus' butthole this is better than MV

Imho, the "problem" with Mental Vortex is two-fold:
first/non-critical, the optimal fat/wankery/adventurousness content of the arrangements in No More Color and Grin, is gone.
second/critical, the sound work is better, but clinical to the brink of compressed.
Dissonance Theory keeps the first condition intact, but greatly improves the second condition, ergo imho, it is better than Mental Vortex.
Edit:
I still can't believe how awesome and deep this sounds on a budget Creative Pebble Pro speaker set......
