Just diggin into this now and I'm immediately impressed. They've had keen somgwriting chops, I see that hasn't changed. Love the tone of the production too - cold and meaty like a slab of frozen hamburger

Forlorn is wild, took me completely off guard looking at my phone like "did I forget to turn auto play off?" XD

But it does still also sound like them somehow. Crazy.

Glad you dig it Mongi!

Drumming on this is superb. Reminds me at times of my favorite aspects of Mgla's intricate grooves. This for sure will end up in my top 10 of 2025

Did you guys know that the drummer is a multi-instrumentalist and have made an insane solo song too? Dude's a crazy musician

Damn. I mean liked the previous one, but from what I remember it kinda sounded like doddheimsgard or somthing. This somehow hits me likel top notch bm Enslaved sounding. Digging so much the no filler here. Every moment count for me.

Their previous album is their "worst", but it still rips.

Still rips, but I think it’s definitely the one I’ve revisited the least

I've said it before, but the debut is still my fav. The riffs on that album are otherworldly.

This on the other hand might literally be their best and again is another album that is fucking up what I thought would be my top 10

I should probably read some lyrics before I do anything drastic tho, but honestly bm lyrics have never been too important to me unless they’re one of those bm bands that has a lot of screamo influence a la Portrayal of Guilt or even Deafheaven

Speaking of which i need something from Portrayal of Guilt, it’s been a fat fucking minute since we’ve heard from those guys

it's the production on these last few albums that's given them elite status imo. very natural, a lot of energy. they've probably rehearsed the hell out of it.
