I think it’s especially nice after the broader genre resurgence with bands like Black Tongue, To The Grave, Lorna Shore etc that the specific MySpace era iteration is getting a look-in too. It felt so of its time but clearly there’s still a lot of love for it and it’s fun to relive after 15 years or so

said it a few pages back but volatile ways is worth a jam if you love the more bdm, slam chuggy stuff like early suicide silence. they have a female vocalist who is great, their first full length was this year. like 25 mins long too if you’re curious.

melo and bdm were the two main strains back then and i wish that side got more love seems like most of the revival stuff is melo, i usually prefer straight up ignorant heaviness most of the time lol

I usually do too but I've been really into some melodic metalcore/deathcore lately. Scratching an itch I didn't know I had lmao.

Also Underneath the Gun's The Awakening needs a shout for Myspace Christian deathcore. Still not sure why MUCKRAKER is missing from the track list on streaming

There's some revival stuff that is following more of the path of Suicide Silence than ABRB. D0nnie Brasc0 s/t, Mauled s/t, Mantikore - Promo MMXXIII, The Queen Guillotined - Nothing Will Get Us to Heaven and especially Rev3rent - Last Trace all pull more from The Cleansing than Allegiance

what a great page my brothers. happy you dug hawks and i'll check out some of those as well nazz!
dude jr so happy you dug that, one of my favorite truly unknown gems. 23 ratings on rym! no idea how they didn't get bigger. and yeah the blend of bdm and melody really hadn't been done much like they did. really unique sound. if you like myspace deathcore that ep is a great summation of everything that i love about the era.
