Imaginary Soniscape is extremely fun albeit a bit far fetched from being a BM album and more of a heavy metal/psych rock fusion with some bm leftover
I should really discog run Sigh tbh

Most of their stuff rules. A lot of variety too.

Man, Revelator is so sinister. I love it. George really upped the intensity of his screaming on this album somehow. Then the last three songs end this so well.
I also love how they shortened their songs a little. It's not too much to prevent songs from unfolding naturally, but it also makes the whole album a little more digestible overall.

TbH I was a bit bored by their recent work... but this one sounds exciting upon first listen. Pretty cool stuff, definitely going to go deeper into it

Also Imaginary Sonicscape is decent, but Hangman’s Hymn and Scenes From Hell clear it easily. Their latest one too

My biggest gripe with this band has always been the vocals which is why I loved the last album cause I think George has some great cleans. That being said the album is pretty solid just wish they would have struck a better balance on the cleans and screams on this album cause the way he screams on some of the softer sections is so jarring to me. Realistically I would give it a 3.5 to maybe a 4 after a few more listens.

Think this is easily their best release
Virtually no filler

Shiki has become very comfortably my fav Sigh, but Sonicscape and Scenes From Hell are both rippers
only pointers I'd give are to jam the expanded edition of Sonicscape as a point of necessity, maybe not to start on Shiki because the mix of polished prod and bm barnburners is so tight it might ruin a few of their others, and not to start on In Somniphobia unless you specifically want to approach them as an overcooked panto band
fuck I have posted in the big dfhvm thread. oops. gonna rejam Heir to Despair today I think
