Not bad at all, but could be more sonically varied. Some of it kind of blends into a generic sound without spicing it up enough. Shame cos the songwriting has improved a hell of a lot

I find this way more enjoyable than their last LP.

Nothing really groundbreaking, but the production and composition are better imo.

Fat Morgan is the best song on the album. Unfortunately, it's also the opener so it's all downhill from there.

Ultraviolet beats this entire album's ass all by itself and I think pretty much every aspect of their sound was stronger on the EP. Hooks aren't very strong, emotion isn't hitting, it's just passably decent most of the way through. I also agree that Crystal Roses is a big miss. I think experimentation is fine but that just did not work.

First half of the album is better. It starts to fall off for me once Crystal Roses shows it's ugly face. Ride the Wave and Deep End aren't bad but they're not as good as the first few tracks. I'm torn between a 3.5 and a 4

Tbh I'm enjoying pretty much all of this. Ride the Wave is the only song I'm finding subpar so far and even it gets better in the second half

I enjoyed it when it was heavy, but I wasn’t super into Courtney’s vocal melodies as I would have preferred to be. Her voice is great though.

They just posted the lamest instagram post I’ve ever seen promoting Target lmao. So not metal. They may have officially sold out

“They may have officially sold out”

Given that I’ve long gotten the impression Spiritbox was pretty much formed because IWABO wasn’t a financially viable way for LaPlante and Stringer to pay the mortgage, I’d posit that point has long since passed lol
