Using it as a benchmark in his discog is fine. It’s the last time he bothered taking any risk creatively. Generic isn’t the word I’d necessarily use at the forefront of my critique, but safe and predictable would.

tpab is a benchmark album period. it absolutely deserves all of the ungodly amount of praise it gets its just unfortunate that a lot of it that we see on the internet is especially from people that aren't even below the water on a hip hop iceberg and think the genre starts and ends with a prefix of "alternative" or "experimental"
