Album Rating: 3.5 | Sound Off

The album sounds really good, the writing and performances sound very reinvigorated and have everything recent albums lacked. But as an album it’s not the bold reimagining it should’ve been. It’s good!

this thread went as expected.

i remember going down a bit of a rabbit hole a while ago and coming out of it with the opinion that the allegations against manson seemed quite dubious. you can't be certain about anything ofc, but leaning towards agreeing with what the lurker said.
at the very least this isn't as clear cut a case as others, say e.g. kozelek or whatever. so i'm quite surprised to see everyone so assuredly piling on the guy.
will gladly accept some educational or potentially opinion-warping links!

Solid album overall. Not feeling Death is not a Costume or Meet me in Purgatory atm, but everything else is fun and feels more classic Holy Wood sound imo. Interesting he left Front Towards Enemy off the album, bc I would have much preferred that over the two previously noted songs.

People who can’t separate art from artist and try to holier than thou against the people who can is beta cuck soy boy behavior. Last I checked MM hasn’t been found guilty of any crime. Also last I checked allegations don’t always paint a full picture, and sometimes there are motives in bringing such allegations which aren’t 100% pure and/or lack a whole other side to a story. Not claiming to know the circumstances of any of MM’s stuff, and I’m not here to defend (or attack him). But at least get off other’s backs about it. If you can’t abstain from listening to him without making sure everyone else knows where you stand, then your character is the one I’m questioning tbh.

think i like we are chaos better tho

The title track and Sacrifice Of The Mass are legitimately some of the best tracks Manson has ever put out which is wild to say this late in his career. Album is fantastic overall and even better than We Are Chaos which I already felt was a great return to form.
