What gets me about Emptiness Machine is how it’s literally just Guilty All The Same but with the interesting parts taken out.

Damn, I never realised how accurate that is.

Guilty All the Same is a very good comparison actually

Pretty incredible how this somehow sounds more like an album from the 2000s than any of Linkin Park’s 2000s albums

Not a bad album and has a few good songs, but so forgettable and slight. I do see this more as a “warm-up” album for them, and I guess it works in that sense, but their next album will be the true test. If it’s more of the same as this — sound/taste of reheated leftovers and afterthoughts — then I’m out; more or less.
Chester is one of my favorite vocalists so I was weary of this from the start. Certainly not the idea of them going on creating music and I know Shinoda is the primary songwriter/architect, but he isn’t what made them great. It was Chester’s passion and emotion that sold material that could be quite cheesy in another singer’s hands.
Hence. This album. Emily is a pretty talented singer but imho they should really go in a different direction rather than trying to recreate and maintain what’s already lost, and cannot be brought back.

Oh wow they put out another song.
Guess they’re doing that brat-ified deluxe version release to bump their streaming numbers.

New song is easily the most interesting thing they’ve released with Emily.

Production is better, sounds crisper and more in line with Minutes to Midnight - drums are more interesting, guitars are punchier, song structure is more interesting, Mike and Emily compliment each other.
This is the comeback song I wanted.

Except this one sounds like a compressed rewrite of Lost In The Echo.

Honestly, at this point I’m glad to at least get one song I’m slightly excited to listen to, From Zero was so barren.

There’s definitely some ‘Runaway’ in there too, yeah.

Yuck.
New song is terrible lol The chorus sounds like a generic drinking song chorus and Shinoda's verse legit sounds like Tom MacDonald

I'm not feeling the new song. Most From Zero tracks are better imo

I'm surprised I'm in the minority with the new single, but then again I guess I did give From Zero the lowest rating review of the site so far haha

Yeah as generic as everything they've made last year but I think I kinda prefer the new single over almost every track in this

New song sounds very generic and meh. Not bad, but forgettable and just feels dialed in. Sounds like the average song off FZ tbh.

I agree about the production at least, still kinda amazed at how shitty this sounds

I forgot this but a buddy of mine used to talk about how he saw some band live and there was like maybe 20 people total there. Said he hit it off with the vocalist when a bunch of them were drinking after the show.
Years later she’s the lead singer for Linkin Park. So my closest claim to fame is I have a friend who claims to have almost fucked the second best Linkin Park vocalist like 15 years ago.
He told me that story long before she was in this band so idk, don’t have any reason not to believe him.
