“Best since Meteora” is a flaccid, ageusic take given Hunting Party and ATS exist. At least when LP sucked with Chester, they sucked ambitiously. This one isn’t even underwhelming; it just doesn’t whelm at all.

I'm sorry but there aren't many albums that are worse than ATS, period.

What Butkuiss said.
The Hunting Party holds some of their best songs, and highlights the drums, and guitar work. All For Nothing, War, Mark The Graves, and A Line In The Sand are good tracks. The album is heavily consistent next to maybe Until It's Gone.
I appreciate ATS for what they were trying to achieve, but there are some quality tracks in there, next to all the filler. You must be tone deaf to say The Hunting Party was shit, compared to the new material.
Two Faced is literally a half-assed rehash of One Step Closer... All you have to do is read the lyrics in the bridge out loud to hear it.

At least its heavy. Heavy is the Crown and Casuality go strong. Lyrics were never their forte.

ive never really cared about this band being heavy or not. its always been apparent to me that they were/are a pop band
plus even by their standards heavy is the crown is unpalatably butt rock lol cannot stand it

honestly i like her vocals enough to where i can see a world where this lineup makes a good album one day
they just did. not. do that here
also surprised at people arguing "this doesn't sound like meteora" on the last page lol. this thing sounds exactly like meteora with some butt rock elements sprinkled in.
and that's honestly the worst thing about the album. they present this as a "new chapter" for the band yet spend the whole time nostalgia mining... and for all the not-good albums they made with chester it was at least admirable that they never pulled that card when they so easily could have
ive never really cared about this band being heavy or not. its always been apparent to me that they were/are a pop band [2]

I mean the album title is "From Zero", that's how they started, Nu-Metal/Rock.
Album isn't going to be album of the year but it's pretty enoyable. Yes there are lot of times where I felt they were trying to do the Chester sound and it feels like they're just slowly playing around with what they're used to make, which is fine to be honest.
This sounds softer than Meteora, I feel it's more MTM for the Rock parts.

What do I want when I listen to LP ?
A crossover between rock/metal/hip-hop/electronic easy listening music with big choruses.
This is exactly what we get here.
Is it groundbreaking ? No.
Is it straight to the point, catchy, and sounding like Linkin Park ? Yes, 100%.
Is it the best since Meteora ? I think so, even if it's far from the first two LPs. At least some moments reminded me why I loved LP back in the days, which never happened with any of the last records. It's not nostalgia, only what I like the band for.

yep god forbid this band tried to spread their own wings and leave their bubble! nah lets just do what sold back in the day
most surface level shit ever. this band was wasted on their fanbase. easily their least inspired album and thats saying something

I think this band has definitely spread its wings many different ways during its career, people just hated it when they did. Now people are complaining that they are going back to the drawing board.
Thee inconvenient truth is that they were only ever good at nu-metal, and 80% of the band's talent left when Chester did.
I respect what they're doing here, but I also have lowered the bar for what I expect from them.

they were good at a lot of things, apparently except cultivating a fanbase that actually recognized that

I enjoyed most of their forays into pop (MtM wasn't bad, even OML), but when they got overly heavy (THP) or overly ambitious (Hundred Million Suns) they lost their spark.

at least they were trying things and indulging in their creativity, and sounded like they cared. i just see through this shit entirely its so hollow. im glad people can get nostalgia baited i guess .
its also bad at what its doing which doesnt help. mike consistently drops the worst performances ive ever heard from him, none of emilys melodies are good until the closer, her screaming is bad, the instrumentals are all lazy, they didnt even try to do a good job on cashing in on what they did in the past
