Hell yeah! This is A LOT "groovier" and riff oriented than anything he's ever done and it works to perfection.

“ This brand of black metal (the whole "here is some winter stuff for you....do you like it... it's wintery")”

I mean this guy has been the absolutely peak of that style for the last 30 years so if you were going to listen to something in that vein it might as well be Paysage

Also think he was definitely more riff-oriented early on, Steineiche and Schattengang are some of the best examples of that

"This is an epic journey through the heart of a dizzying blizzard."

Wow, so they're really mixing things up on this album?

Sheister was groovy but that's about all it had going for it. Needed more ghostly synths n choirs stuff to live up to its name.

It might be a little repetitive but I love his take on the more punky black metal style on Geister. If it was like 40 minutes it might have been less divisive but I’ll take all the Paysage I can get

I love his screams but these Grudge-ass vocals hit the mark

If it helps the vinyl version is split into 3 discs that have the first 2 tracks, the middle 3 and then the last 2. CD version is split between the first 5 tracks and then the last 2

hmm may do that vinyl split. this seems like ideal drift off to sleep under a blanket while it's freezing out. getting there.

I haven't decided if I like this better than Im Wald, but I sure feel like I'm going to spin it more often.
