I think it's likely to be anyone's second favourite if 'Disintegration' has always been your favourite Cure by a long way.
If that isn't the case then I can see why people would rank this lower.

Yeah Disintegration is my favourite album (in general) and this is second or third for these guys, Pornography might still just edge this out

The thing is, The Cure was always good at pop songs too, so the easy top 3 was always Disintegration, Head on the Door and Pornography. So yeah, fans of Disintegration will probably lean more towards this album, relatively speaking, but the fact that it turned out to be this good... I'm still confused

It really is all over the place. But in an endearing way.

Robert Smith is also under rated af on Guitar and is such an influence on my own playing.
Listen to the “solo” on fragile thing. He does more with a few notes, a shit ton of chorus and a little bit of dirt than any of the shredders would dare attempt.

true, v economical player with a ridiculous sense for a strong hook (I can easily imagine him vocalising half his parts before he writes them down) — and weirdly enough, Kiss Me Kiss Me might be his best effort in that dept? discuss

Not enough people are talking about the elephant in the room with this album though: How the fuck does Robert Smith's voice sound this good at this point in his career?

“Robert Smith is also underrated af on Guitar”
^
So true! He is very capable, accomplished, and understands how to make catchy-poppy riffs as well as grand soundscapes (a bit of a noodler but I love it). Together, now, with Reeves, it’s a one-two punch. Reeves can literally play anything and was such a great fit for this band. What I find crazy about Robert’s rig (unless he has changed it up) is that he uses all Boss stomp effects live. Kiss Me is definitely top tier guitar album for them (love that use of sitar); first 6 songs on Kiss Me (as a string of consecutive songs) could rival any of their albums. And of course Just Like Heaven is one of the greatest sappy pop songs of all time (w/a great guitar riff and great acoustic guitar).

"Not enough people are talking about the elephant in the room with this album though: How the fuck does Robert Smith's voice sound this good at this point in his career?"
It's a mystery for the ages, and he sounds just as good in a live setting, even when his shows are like 3 hours long. The only genuine answer I can come up with is that he probably takes good care of it? I don't know man he's the goat
