apparently he's pulling the song. on one hand i think unapproved samples are fair game for mixtapes/online projects, on the other he's already got the vinyls/cd pressed if the shipping dates '6-8 weeks' so had more than enough time to clear it. it's just strange he got it from some completely unknown project thann tried to 'negotiate' the rights after he released it, just seems like he figured no one would notice and it makes you think how many other times he's done that.

while funny he got caught by the artist so soon+publicly... dude isn't anywhere near the only guy dropping albums with uncleared samples.

The more I listen to the new one the more disappointed I am in it. It’s fine, but tbh he’s been on the hottest streak of any rapper I can think of.

Veteran - Cornballs - LP - Hoes - ILDMLFY is truly an insane run

hell, Black Ben Carson and Communist Slow Jams can hang with them too when they’re at their best…so Experimental Rap is legit his worst project imo. It’s still good, but his vocals have never been more one note. I’m sure it’ll translate well to a live show and still plan on seeing him… but this is the first time I’ve haven’t really had any interest in learning the lyrics to shout along to at the show. His lyricism was never what drew me to him (well, not the first thing at least, he has some MEAN fucking verses when he’s on. That Injury Reserve feature he had is fucking vicious), but lyrically it’s probably his worst too, but Black Ben Carson and Communist Slow Jams are both for sure due for another listen, but I remember liking both of them a whole lot more than the new one.

Burning Hammer, Degenerates Prayer, Yen, GYBB, War Over Land, and No Strippers in Heaven are all fuckin fire, really show that he hasn’t like, fallen off or anything, but the rest feels like a blur to me. Maybe I’m coping but I still think he can follow up with something back up to his usual standard just based on those tracks, but for Peggy, as long as I’ve been a fan this is the first time I’ve been glad I didn’t blind pre order

But I guess I also like this record more than a lot of folks. It really might be my favorite behind Veteran and Scaring the Hoes. A guy in a discord I’m in mentioned this and I can’t stop thinking about it now… but damn if Danny Brown were rapping over these beats it’d be fuckin fire. There’s a lot of fuckin tracks but I can’t really remember completely hating any of the beats on the new one.

Yeah definitely think there was a bit of an overreaction to the sample thing but the way he addressed it trying to blame the band for "pushing a narrative" is just bizarre. Got caught and tried to push blame on them, it's weird.

And honestly main reason I'm not checking it out isss I haven't heard any of his albums since online, soo like it I was in the mood I'd probably throw on this or sth instead of ER

This is much better, whatever you think of the man I think this record is phenomenal and easily my second favorite behind Veteran.

And Scaring the Hoes if you count that.

Speaking of which, goddamn a Danny Brown X Peggy tour would’ve been so killer. Like maybe each does a 30-45 minute solo set and then Scaring the Hoes would’ve been tight.

I know that they did tour for it but I have no idea what the set was like… I really wish they hit my city man.

on the sth tour they played like the entire album and traded off doing a handful of their own songs in between in one big set. kinda similar to that kendrick/sza tour

Yeah that STH tour was fuckin awesome, glad I caught it. Feel like Peggy beefs Danny now, he seems so hard to work with
