I agree Eak. The Gallery is one of my least favorite DT albums. I actually prefer everything from Damage Done to the present. Also have a soft spot for Projector.

melodeath is death metal that is melodic, that can be a lot of things - incidentally with a lot of separate, independent origins too

The Gallery is good. It does get a bit exhausting, though. But you could tell they were excited af when writing it. Projector's where it's at for me.

I don’t like DT prior to Damage Done. A couple good songs on Haven but overall not a great album. The production on the gallery makes it unlistenable.

The Gallery is one of those quintessential melodic death metal albums but I rarely revisit it for whatever reason. If I'm in a DT mood I usually head straight for Fiction, Character, or Damage Done.

Also, sad to say that on second listen this album lost of a lot of its shine already.

@Ghost You sure you're talking about The Gallery? I don't think I've ever heard anyone complain about the production on that album, especially to the point of it being unlistenable.



I've heard that about Skydancer though, but never The Gallery. Or I guess the better question is, what's your issue with its production?
