NFTP is a good way to start but it is worth going back to Blueprints eventually. the opener-closer duo on that album are basically the roadmap to what they (used to be) so great at

Stephen is still doing guest appearances at their live shows. He performed most of Anberlin's set on 10/19/24 when I saw them. Matty did the first 3 songs, then Stephen did the rest until he brought Matty back out to join him for the last half of Feel Good Drag to close the set.
Also, the newest track, "High Stakes" is fantastic.

Yeah I was pissed because I skipped their set since I thought it'd just be Matty.

It's still just not an Anberlin song, but High Stakes is decent

Yeah High Stakes is bad and they had a ton of weird bitty cimpliments 7 hours into the video

I almost thought it was Tilian Pearson singing the verses lol and the chorus is emberassing
The vocal melody on the verse could work with Stephen but my god that chorus

Shame the way things went for this band
They had an excellent final LP in their arsenal and these EPs are proof, but they fumbled everything

very much a band who never should have reunited

Album Rating: 4.0
Or that, yeah
I actually think some Mullins-less variation of the two EPs would have topped Lowborn, but to each their own
