Only Alcest could make me buy into interpretive dance

Flamme Jumelle translates to "Twin Flame" and envelops the concept that no true love, whether romantic or a friend or family member, ever truly passes and two spirits will always remain linked even in death. Beautiful man

"Y'all are sleepin on Amethyste, that song is absolute fire."

already mentioned it as a highlight, sleepyhead.

What I don't really get is the focus on L'Efant de la Lune here on sputnik. Sure its a fantastic song but I don't really see how its the standout track here when everything is so amazing.

Or is it just that there is some japanese in it and that gets the weeb vote? lul jk... unless

Bumping this up to a 5. After a super stressful year and a half this is the perfect album to stick on whilst vibing in the sunshine. Essential Alcest album as far as I'm concerned.

thanks for the review. I've given it a lot of listens before deciding on a rating but I honestly cannot justify giving it anything other than a 5. It's massive and it just puts such a huge smile on my face.

i feel like i won't return to this as much as i do kodama if i'm being frank - for me it's one of those "great whilst it's on" records but it feel like it won't have the staying power. could be wrong, time will tell. maybe given time and the hype dying down i'll be able to appreciate it more for what it is.

Sometimes everything just clicks for a band and they nail it perfectly. Neige has done exactly that with his new Alcest album. It’s an absolute masterpiece and I’d give it a solid 5/5

i feel kodama was that moment - that album is flawless imo. hugely evocativen and their most complete album to date. this isn't far behind though!

L'Enfant is a peak genre track what the fuck. Take the best of Alcest and have it give Rosetta a hug and pg.lost a wink and voila.

Im afraid Amethyst isn't clicking with me, I don't really feel much from that song and the melodies in particular dont really bring about any emotion, it feels kind of flat and like I dont understand what the vibe is supposed to be. Whole album needs more time to settle though, the opener is so good.

L'Enfant is probably my favorite right now.

Reminiscence gives me very heavy WHBWH Anathema vibes, absolutely love it.
