only heard the singles so far but i'm not really feeling their further push into super melodic territory. their EiF / destroyers era had a nice balance of melodic and dissonant that made both sides feel more impactful due to the contrast between sections. everything on the last few albums has kind of blended into a melodic reverby soup. like at this point i'm not sure why they're still considered "dissodeath," every song basically uses the exact same scale & chord ideas

Yeah this is alright but kinda feels like a boring sequel to the last album. Also, feel like the drummer is just recycling drum parts and fills at this point. Dude's fast as fuck but 90% of his fills are just fast linear fills

Well, it's definitely mostly linear fills. I know he has the chops to switch it up more especially during the shower sections. His grooves are nice but then he'll end each bar with that same triplet based linear fill he does all the time
