Another significant step up for Alexisonfire. It could have done with a different track ordering since it is clearly front-loaded, but I really like the change towards a more punky sound. The inclusion of more vocals from Wade surprisingly works a treat, while the lyrics here are under-rated and delivered with such honesty & passion (see the opening line of “Alright, this is from our hearts, sincerity over simple chords”). And when some of the songs falter, there is always Dallas’ melodic brilliance to listen to. Fave tracks: Boiled Frogs, Drunks Lovers Sinners and Saints, We Are The Sound & This Could Be Anywhere in the World.

I have loved this band forever. Watch Out! was amazing but i have found this to be my favorite because the songwriting has grown so much and the mixing and production have immensely gotten better. Dallas's voice has always been spot-on but he owns on this album and wade adds good harmonizations. The best thing about this band is their ability to create awesome vocal melodies and i honestly never get tired of the guitars, drums, or bass either because they have cool riffs that I don't really hear from other bands

album provokes loads of emotions, from the lively songs like mailbox arson, boiled frogs etc to the more slow and meaningful (but still amazing) songs like the closers to a friend and rough hands. All makes for an album you have to listen to over and over.

boiled frogs kicks ass, along with rough hands and a few others, but im not completely sold on this album. its great-don't get me wrong- but not as seriously good as their old stuff. maybe just the maturity? i don't know.
Boiled frogs has some of my all time favorite lyrics: about getting trapped in the workplace by pension plans and such. how business betrays its employees, customers, and just about everyone else.

This album pretty much summed up what Alexisonfire was beginning to sound like in "Watch Out!" and their debut, as for the screaming, its good but I think George can do a little better.

“ooh they’ve sold out, they’re just commercial punk pop now”
No, Alexisonfire didn't get any closer to pop punk.
