Yeah I do like Dusk a lot, might be my second favorite but it would have been interesting to close with Place in the Sun.
Happy to read everyone resonating with that song by the way, it was my favorite since the first time I heard the album.

the more I listen to it, its electronic arrangements remind me much more of PiB than Abyss
and there's too much guitar solo for me in Dusk

I think Dusk is fantastic. I get where Johnny is coming from saying Place In The Sun is a better closer, though. I don’t know what I’d pick as a weak point. Maybe Everything Turns Blue, which I still think is great but a bit more of your standard CW

Man I haven't listened to PiB in a while, gotta remedy that . There's certainly a shared vibe between Abyss and Pib, I should have maybe mentioned PiB too in the review.

Wow, I've been a fan for a long time but this feels like the culmination of everything Chelsea has been doing. Incredible on first couple of listens.

The middle section is certainly decent, mostly appreciation, albeit fairly modest enjoyment. Solid run starting with The Liminal.
admittedly Place In The Sun is the emphatic standout, so much so that when it hits you realise everything else is much less enticing by association. Hmm, this isn't dead yet - perhaps it's a grower. Let's see.
and yeah, could definitely do without Dusk as a closer

Just unbelievable consistency for so long. I gotta say the wait has sucked but she really made it worth it.

That’s definitely the standout ‘new’ track for me at this point. Still surprised so many people prefer this sound over her acoustic stuff but yeah Chelsea is queen and never disappoints

This is clearly a return to form of her, not that Birth of Violence was bad but this is in a whole other level, insanely well crafted.

It’s not that I prefer it by that much, it’s just we already got plenty of that early in her career. And Birth of Violence just wasn’t as good as Grime, Apokalypsis, or even Unknown Rooms to me at least.
