title track is such a special tune. think him playing it more direct musically helps land the message of universal interconnectivity really nicely

One look at the Fantano thumbnail was all I needed to know. Man always hates solid music.

he gave it like a light 6 but yea lmao. seems like his biggest problem with it is that it sounds dated to him

this is holding up really well whenever i come back to it, and is still revealing cool stuff i dig about it. only song i dont really dig here is so much, which makes olive tree even more of a beam of light within the sequencing

I don't have much against Fantano but I'll be damned if every review he makes doesn't feel like a forced homework assignment

i've been jamming this a lot more than i thought i would. real solid record, maybe a 4 eventually. this would be a great album from anyone, but it's especially impressive coming from an artist in the twilight of his career or whatever

Still hits hard whenever I come back to it. Damn, I really can’t listen to Playing For Time without my eyes getting wet. And So Much is equally intense, the lyrics are so good.

Finally got around to hearing this. It's better than Up and the mixing is insane. His voice ages so well

I am digging this more than Up as well, Up definitely has bangers but this never loses my attention. It tops a few of his earlier albums for sure

The 5 for me is for the fact it’s an absolutely ridiculous piece of work for an old boy.

"with it is that it sounds dated to him"

I hate that term so much. Wtf even is 'dated?' Why is a music critic so bad at explaining his opinions (that he hates anything remotely prog unless it sounds punk)?

It grinds my gears when someone whose job it is to intellectualize their feelings on a piece of art falls back on colloquialisms without elaboration. Motherfucker, I am not watching a 10 minute video for you to say you thought it was boring.
