Only heard the singles but all 3 of those were lame as hell
And I say this as someone who digs a fair bit of pop-era Health
|
| |
well that's reassuring
I believe I've heard a grand total of zero health songs
|
| |
i think im gonna have to agree with gonzo here, this is truly the best industrial album to come out all year

Didn't realize until this moment that Lana del Rabies put out a record this year

check their earliest stuff Pika, better for your health for sure. Noisy arty experimental rock. This is distinctly milquetoast in comparison
They got boring by Death Magic and have never recovered

cool will check debut then
also holy f that average freefall

Also just tried reading through this review and yikes it is poorly written
not even in an ideological sense just a bad use of the English language
"The atmosphere in particular is extremely distinct, oppressive and unrelentingly claustrophobic, feeling like you’re being smothered by a production taking great pleasure in pounding you to dust with its planet-colliding breakdowns and capacious rhythms."
How is something capacious in any way claustrophobic, or oppressive, or unrelenting? It doesn't just mean big, it means big in a specific way that allows for a lot of room, which doesn't seem to be said or understood with any precision in the review.
"While “(Of Being Born)” (the conclusive reaction to “Ashamed”) and album closer “Don’t Try” completely strip the chaos down to bone and sinew; reposed laments that shift the focus onto Jake to fortify the album’s existential philosophies." Repose implies rest, tranquility, peace. Even when used in the context of death it implies the calm release. Certainly not a descriptor that aligns with something as dramatically violent as chaos stripped down to bone and sinew.
Like, c'mon. And these are far from the only examples here

Is this the place to ask where I should start re Nurse With Wound?
|
| |
no that would be a nurse with wound thread
|
| |
Hell yeah Demon, my instincts say Homotopy to Marie, nice representation of the real spooky flavor, with more movement than Soliloquy for Lilith, a more considered approach than Chance Meeting on an Operating Table, and a more representative sound than Thunder Perfect Mind
(I love all 4 of those records fwiw and you could pretty much start with any of them if leaning in a particular direction sounds more compelling)

“that was the most uninteresting argument ive ever seen you bitches are boring”
Thank you for your valuable, insightful, extremely creative response. I’ll make sure to mark it down and put it in a time capsule for future generations to be inspired by.

‘no that would be a nurse with wound thread’
Oh, I see we have a clever dick, but no I actually doubt that will conjure any sort of response from my limited experience using this domain, lol
Thanks porc, you’re the best

Man this site has gotten ruthless in my time away haha. Album is pretty solid and really isn't thaaaat generic.
I don't know if I listen to enough bands that people would say are adjacent to Health, but as someone who listens to plenty of Perturbator, Youth Code, and a whole bunch of bandcamp industrial randos, I think this is pretty enjoyable and not overly derivative.
