i was pestering my coworker to listen to Panopticon all week and then later on I was like also check ISIS and he was like "which album" and I was like "Panopticon" and he started dying laughing
I find that funny you mention ISIS and Panopticon in the same comment. I was driving to work last week and I can't remember what tune it was on this album but it gave me a really good ISIS feel (in regards to ISIS clean, build up sections).

Winter's Ghost does not take too long to get going. This is the best part of the first half of the album. The black metal exploding in is not handled all that great in my opinion based on the build they were were going for but its literally the only annoyance this album presents to me.

Yeah, while I do think the transitions in that track are this album's biggest weakness, the slow build/early section is one of my favorite stretches, very immersive.
