Calling Angel Electronics average in *any* sense is a major self-own call your doctor

opinions, they are great. Their only release is average at best, and I won't be the last one you hear that from.

Blink listeners in 2023 not understanding the meaning of average is tbqh an entirely understandable timeline

A 2.5 is understandable.
“Average” makes me wonder where the scene is that it’s an average sound

“ when jackass forever came out, it got a really positive reception despite being essentially a bunch of dudes in their 40/50s doing the same dumb immature shit they were doing 20 years ago. it was deemed 'an ode to male friendship' and other shit, because above all else, it made people laugh and feel joyful
blink and this album are very similar i think. yes, they are a bunch of dudes in their 40s singing about the same shit they did in their teens/20s, and yes a lot of that is immature and cringe, and yes a lot of this is carried by nostalgia. but there's something really intangible here. some of that is due to the undeniably endearing story of friends coming back together after tragedy.
blink have always been a band better as a sum than their parts. they've never been amazing lyricists or great musicians technically, but they made music that was emotive and made people feel things (wether fun/upbreat, sad/melancholic, or often both together). and thats what this album does once again”
I like this take

^I was going to say, that's a solid take honestly.

Surprisingly good. I’m a huge fan of s/t and dogs eating dogs, and this album feels like an extension of those. Might grow to a 4 with a few more spins.

After that last record, no way in hell this doesn't suck the fattest dick imaginable.

Nostalgia is a magical thing. I don’t lament it

I know Jerry Finn passed away but did that really mean Trav had to post it like a "Post Malone does rock for REAL" record?
the early records (anything pre Dude Ranch, really) sounded like shit but it was because they essentially had no choice, there was a charm to it and you actually got to hear blink just being themselves. this is airbrushed to all hell, even including the guy who needs no airbrushing (Travis himself.) the only potential nostalgia for me is in the interviews and live shows for this one, the record itself sounds like garbage

Even back in high school these guys seemed kinda like kiddie shit to me tbh. Mostly just hate delonge's voice, hoppus is fine I guess but just sooooooo toothless and generic. I don't want to rain on anyone's parade tho PIKA
