I think this might be my favourite example of use of microtones in metal so far. It's got plenty of chaotic dissonance but also it's fair share of actual memorable riffs too. It's so good

just a reminder that the band name means "burning down to the bone" but a literal translation is
boning

Czech "Přílišnost"
enjoyed my first foray and altho it v much feels like it has that signature Kostnateni sound, there's a couple lil new tricks to unpack

Can't wait to jam the new one!

Definitely brings in a few new influences both from inside and outside metal. Will take a few listens to absorb but I definitely like it after the first play through

the second spin is more revealing so far, idk if it's the different headgear by my god the warped psych bits on the opener are immense. It sounds absolutely massive.
first three cuts all start like they belong on almost entirely different albums, lol. It's impressively adventurous yet the guy just coalesces all his influences into a whole remarkably well

It threatens to descend into parody by the end so I'm glad it finishes where it does. The brevity is welcome & it probably has nowhere else to go hence the abrupt conclusion.
I definitely prefer the first half / 2/3rds so far but it's still a massive statement of a release
