Listened to about half of that 10 minute song but I’m a sleepy boy, I’ll def check the rest of that record out tomorrow

Perfect timing, they’re dropping a new one soon I think!
And the debut is great too! Idk if ya fuck with the armed but Cara featured on a non album single from these guys that’s prettty solid too

These guys are awesome. It has been a while since a band in this genre has grabbed my attention but most certainly, I am glad I have discovered them.

New one is ok but this blows it out the water in so many ways.

It’s just going for a completely different vibe. I fuckin dig it but they really have not stuck with one sound over the course of three records and I respect that

if this thing blows the new one out of the water then my expectations just fucking plummeted

It’s far more straightforward. I like it alot but I understand why people that like the first record wouldn’t like this, and why people that like this don’t like the new one. Seriously, say whatever you want about the band but all three records are drastically different without ever sounding like they’re just chasing trends or whatever.
To me the first one is just batshit mathcore that can get dissonant but isn’t afraid to smash your face in, this one adds some prog and slows things down in a few places, the new one a lot sludgier and more groove oriented but still technical as hell when the songs call for it. I like this record the most but I dig all three albums a lot. I’ve listened to the new one a bunch today.
Give it a shot man! It’s a quick listen, its only like 35 mins or some shit

will check, honestly my main gripe with this one was the egregious mix even if the change of direction did indeed play a role too, but I'd never not recognize how fucking talented this band is

I think if you fuck with debut but are indifferent towards this you’ll definitely like the new one more than this at the very least

I feel like it’s more focused and less off the wall crazy but with those technical flourishes that make them an interesting band in the first place

yeah dude I've adored their debut ever since it dropped, one of those records you just love being punished by it

Yeah see I love it too but I also loved that they were willing to take a big swing and try something like this out, I know you’re not as fond of it but to me it felt like they were going into Rolo Tomassi territory just not as cleanly produced and still a little more chaotic.
The new one is a completely different monster. Like I said if you liked the debut more than this one I don’t really see any reason for you to like, hate the new one. It’s closer to the debut but again it’s got some real sludge metal moments along with the blast beats and insane riffage you’d come to expect from these guys… but also you mentioned not liking the mix? Idk, I never had a problem with it so you might run into the same issue with Fleshwork… production never really meant much to me unless it’s like egregiously bad. To me as long as I can hear all the instruments clearly and the vocals don’t have too much touching up then I’m usually good.

I'll try to give this another spin it could win me over this time who knows, I do remember really liking Creating the Devil in Our Image a good deal
