“think it really compliments the more hazy sounding stuff in the back half of the album, but not the bread and butter foo stuff in the beginning”

It's way better than most of the singles that came out, and those singles by themselves were pretty good already

The Teacher is an 11/10 track

Maybe I just went into it with unrealistic expectations after reading some reviews, but I find myself very whelmed by this. It's fine, as almost all their stuff is, but I didn't find it especially good. Nowhere near as good as Wasting Light, which is what many people were saying.

Yeah I don’t understand the sentiment this is better than WL. I only actually heard WL last year and it blew me away. Wasn’t expecting a Fooies record to fuck that hard

I did, just to confirm my feelings. There's like 5 tracks on WL that I think are each better than every track on this new one. I like The Teacher / Rest just fine, but they aren't GREAT.

Good return to form, title track is definitely the best thing they've wrote in a long time. Not really feeling the Teacher like most people here, song drags its feet and ends abruptly, should have ended at the 4:25 mark.

butt.
