couple thoughtz

1. speciation was better
2. just cause the songwriting isnt as memorable or simplistic doesnt mean this is a prog album

Speciation did grow on me immensely after getting really into this. It seems to have gotten more buzz too, I feel like more people were talking about it post release than this

Agreed, I certainly find this a lot tighter. I've seen a good chunk of people complain about how messy the songwriting is, and that confuses me because it's not like death metal is known for its coherent song structures. Even a lot of the classic death metal records are kind of a mess songwriting wise.

'just cause the songwriting isnt as memorable or simplistic doesnt mean this is a prog album'

I mean no-one outright called this a 'prog album', having elements of tech doesn't make it so. What's with this tendency for you puny humans to reduce everything down to 'yes / no', or 'black / white'? - open your second cranial crevice for a minute

and yeah, this is better than Speciation, easy (3)

Seeing these cunce live converted me; absolutely inhumanly tight. I think it’s easy to just write this sort of dm as triggered and quantised dreck that turns to a wall of mud live but FB really are the cleanest, tightest band of this ilk I’ve seen in a while.

It's fucked up that Grotesque Miscreation only has 30 ratings on here, that shit is so fucking hard. One of the best contemporary death metal debuts.

more people should listen to multiversal abattoir, that still might be their best material

organizing my end of the year list and yeah this is the best metal album of the year. some others come close but the musicianship on this puts it above the rest.
