Or maybe place Eventide in the middle point of the album, it does a good job of giving the listener some reprieve, just comes a tad too early imo

I feel like the outro to this album could be like 2 minutes shorter lol. The first 2 - 3 minutes are fire and then it just kinda wanders

Honestly, Embrace Oblivion would have been a great closer, agree the riffs on the album just get recycled over and over and by the end of Artifact I'm bored, doesnt help the song ends on such a whimper too.

They really have just nailed the balance of light and heavy on this one to be fair, the songwriting is the tightest it's ever been, I still kinda miss the beastly gutturals from their old vocalist, but this new vocalist is growing on me..

OK, record starts out quite boring but starts to pick up pace at Into the Eventide.

I think this album borrows from Gojira whereas their previous borrowed more from deathcore, the drumming here gives me big Gojira vibes

Really didn't hear Gojira in this at all, only some Meshuggi / mathcore parts which I did not expect

I think in terms of the heavier side here it's vastly different to their previous stuff, it's a different kind of heavy, still kind of deathcore.. but what remains consistent is the melodicism that makes them easily a cut above most bands

I actually think this album might be my favorite release from these guys. If I'm in the mood for Fallujah I pretty much just listen to this or Venom Upon the Blade lol
The first 2 albums are good, but for some reason I don't often get the urge to revisit them.

Eek ok so I think this is my final thoughts on this album
Empyrean is too readily accessible, diminishing the overall quality of Fallujah's music. The vocals and production lack the necessary power for any track to leave a significant impression.

Caught these guys again last night. It's wild that only Scott remains from the original lineup, but man does his presence ever cement the band's sound.
Kyle's a cool guy, talked super briefly. He kills it live, tons of range.
Wish the audience stuck around longer, it was more packed for Persefone but people started filtering out after, so not many people remained, but they put on a hell of a show!
They played all of The Flesh Prevails front to back, including playing The Night Reveals, and this tour is the first time they've ever played it live! Kyle filled in all the female vox samples himself, which was neat.
We also got a brand new track, but it was hard to judge precisely because of the way such aggressive, busy, loud tracks sound in the live environment. Sounds like more clean singing on the new album?
Damn, Persefone rips. They have a very clinical sound on album, that made me sonically categorize them with Cynic in the past, but live, they sound like a different band, so much more raw and angry. Suuuper cool.
Opening was a proggy death band from California. ______ of Ouroboros? They were fun.
Then...is this a trend anyone else is finding? A lot of metal tours lately have been putting bands together who aren't even close to the same genre. Not that I'm picky, it was just a big disparity. Vulvodynia was there, super slammy/core-y, but good for head banging.
To be honest I'm still recovering from a camping EDM festival during a heat wave. My brain is cooked sous-vide by heat and filled with worms from an MDMA and LSD binge, so I only felt half-there and like I dreamed it lmao. Good concert despite that!

Fallujah said they have finished a new album and they played one unreleased track at the show. It still sounded like Fallujah but it was really really good. Sounds like they are pushing themselves to evolve in all the right ways. It had a darker tone, more deep grooves, and changing dynamics more often. In fact I think it was the song I enjoyed the most of the whole set.

I just need them to divert from this sound indefinitely, this album felt just too formulaic by the end of it, 0 risks, hoping for better

I'm in the Fallujah Patreon community and I can't lie, the previews they've put up of their upcoming album sound PHENOMENAL

@Dmax28 yea I think you're right, this newer style they started exploring on this album and also seem to be progressing with this upcoming one now based on the previews I heard, seem like a really good step in the right direction.
