'that actually applies to most if not all melodeath

that's why it's generally considered a good entry genre'

well there are melodic death metal bands with BM, blackened death or deathcore elements which make the music much more exciting without losing any emotional appeal stemming from the melodies. try Torchbearer for example

it's almost as if mdm is actually a rather complex arrangement of different influences of both heavy and melodic from different metal genres that make it unique in its own right.

Yea but Be'lakor is extremely tame and predictable, there are barely any exciting transitions and the drumming is very basic. Some would probably say that's a good thing, but others it puts to sleep. I think Be'lakor could use a bit more chaos and liveliness, then they'd be pumping out 4.3 albums routinely

Yeah Xfing hit the nail on the head pretty much. Their melodies might be good but damn are they boring with their riffs.

Still, they absolutely rule when it comes to closer track outros, they've got some of the best ever - almost every album of theirs is a hit in that regard

The more I listen to this the more I like it. Verkligheten didn't live up to my expectations but due to that, this one blew them away.

I feel like Verkligheten has catchier songs but the instrumentation on here is better for the most part

I think this is much more cohesive than Verkligheten if nothing else, also really fucking fun and enjoyable

Don't even look at this as a genre of music, to me it's just a great album
