The first three spins were particularly painful to listen to. It's getting much better now. It's hard to understand this adaptation.

But there are some jazz records that give me that same experience too.

Also Pots the way I interpret "Auntie Diaries" (and not commenting here on whether it's right or not), once Kendrick stands up in response to the preacher in the final verse, he stops misgendering and deadnaming. In the narrative structure of the song, he now fully understands how wrong it was/is to do that. That also comes right after he quotes the preacher saying "Demetrius is Mary-Ann now Church, his auntie is a man now".

No, I'm only talking about human brain's adaptation to "unconventional rhymes and shuffling chord changes". This asks for a process of adaptation, which leads to this album's growing on people (in my opinion)
