I started following Fantano back when he had under 1k subs. I was doing horror movie reviews and whatnot on YouTube and ge was kinda linked to that community through a sketch comedy/horror movie review guy that went back RickyShore that I was good friends with back then. back then Fantano used to do requests for track reviews and I remember continually requesting Putrid Pile- Gallery of Horrors lol. he ignored that request but he did a couple dm songs I requested along with Dipethrone if I remember right. The Ricky Shore guy ended up having a beef with him much later on saying Fantano stole his ideas and made a full length low budget horror flick trashing Fantano called Pain Shack lol. Interesting times. Seems like NeedleDrop dropped a good chunk of displaying metal on his channel since he blew up though. If you woulda told me he'd be where he is now back then I would have thought you were crazy honestly. I don't hate him but I can't say I'm a big fan these days. Not gonna lie though I dug his videos those first few years

I know the guy but I think I only saw one of his videos a few years ago. Actually, I don't read reviews (except from my sput comrades) as strange as it may sound.

neither do I these days
I used to read reviews, mostly P4K and select other places if the publication happened to be covering something I was potentially interested in. They were important sources of information when streaming wasn't a thing / as 'accessible'. I used to buy a ton of music completely blind.
Now reviews are an accompaniment, or something I enjoy reading simply to see someone else's perspective. The quality of writing on this site is sufficiently good (sometimes truly excellent) enough to satisfy that for me. I also know there's unlikely to be much bias whereas bigger 'professional' review sites are often swayed by factors unrelated to the subject matter.

ppl still shittin they diapers over fantano huh

Big same on only reading music reviews here on the sput. I've always been that way though. I do follow a few YouTubers that do music reviews but mainly just within the metal genre. Only ones outside of metal that I follow are Deadendhiphop and Misanthropikone
