Ezra's got a unique sound which I did like, even if his range wasn't huge. Riley's cleans were amazing (although rarely used) but I actually didn't love his harsh vocals that much for some reason.

new single sounds like Allegaeon of old, which is great but I like this album above all the rest...

I totally forgot that Riley wasnt in the band anymore, interesting that Ezra is back. Still apprehensive about this band cause I found this album so boring and drab, tried to like and just couldnt it.

crazy. This album is so punchy and dynamic. It's probably the easiest one to enjoy imo
Vermin is a great example of this. The intro is playful and showcases various melodies, a nice upbeat bassline, and after a quick solo just starts to rip and the leads into a short and effective chorus. Can't say enough good things about this album

@Toondude this felt like the band was just going through the motions and didn't try to push their sound forward in any way, though, Allegaeon has a unique sound that sets them apart from other bands, and that remains consistent on this album, hence the 3.5

New single is surprisingly short. Inhumation is better, but I still like it.

weird because this album does push their sound a bit, and this is easily their best imo. The two prior are decent but this album is definitely more cohesive as a whole

I think Proponents is still my favorite but I agree it feels like they found a more cohesive sound on this album and really went after it.

I'm really excited for the upcoming album. I've loved this band since I first found them in 2011 and they have remained in my top 5 most spun bands since then. Their particularly nerdy brand of melodic/tech death just really does it for me, "brick walled" production and all. I was really bummed when Riley left after LOVING Damnum but Ezra's return feels like a return to more brutality if the singles are any indication. That fires me up.

Definitely cool that they got Ezra back but lol they kinda got more popular/signed to a major label after he left in the first place. So I wonder if he had regrets about leaving when he did
Did it ever come out exactly why Riley ended up leaving? From their Facebook, I won't lie, it seemed like the band was throwing a bit of shade his way

"it seemed like the band was throwing a bit of shade his way"
I never felt that at all tbh
he never gave a reason why he left though

There wasn't any shade in the "official" announcements but in the Facebook comments I remember I did see someone from the band comment and I definitely remember thinking it didn't sound like a completely friendly parting of ways.
I can't remember exactly what the comment said but it implied there were major creative differences.
Riley probably just wanted to sing a lot more lol
