Not to side by side these guys in style but in release proximity; I’m enjoying that Venom Prison so much more.

Like I said, most people view Persefone a certain way and always will. Their songwriting is awesome and shows improvement here, but their desire for more of a spectacle kinda skews perception.

I suggest everyone go back and listen a couple more times. When I first listened I gave it a solid 4 but after repeated listens this is a 4.5 for me, it flows so well and its not as heavy as Core or Spiritual Migration it is still VERY heavy when they go for it and the prog stuff is just great. I was one of the people who were a little put off by the ambience and slower songs but they really flow so well with the entire album and I have really started loving them after my 2nd listen. Its a album that I think takes some time to digest just cause so much is going on. Also Conciseness part 3 is just pure flex of instrumental wankery and that is in NO WAY a insult, great song.

Ah, Shin-Ken. Their most slept on right next to Truth, honestly. Always warms my heart to see it rated highly (like it deserves!).

It lives in the shadow of Core. Not very fair, but understandable.

I guess I will give my 2 cents since everyone else is, its hard to categorize these cause I consider all of Persefone's albums to be pretty damn amazing:

Core > This > > Spiritual Migration > Aathma > Debut > Shin-ken

All of them are incredible. The weakest is probably Shin-Ken or Spiritual Migration. Core is the best. I don't know exactly where my order stands though lol
