This sounds like the cast of Glee pretending to be Opeth wth
This sounds like prog metal if a prog metal band had someone describe what Opeth sounded like but never actually heard them, and then got hired to be mascot at Disneyland.
This sounds like a post-good-era Yes CD was stuck in a shipping container with a bunch of Ghost Reverie CDs for six years
The review, as usual, is actually very, very good though Ramon. I only jab in jest! So big ups on that friendo

Evok you couldn't be more wrong. If you spent a little time with this one you'd realize how many differences this has compared to Opeth's delivery. Not everything that is progressive metal with acoustic elements is an Opeth rip-off. These instruments happen to exist and work nicely together so bands utilize them for dynamic purposes in their music....that's where the comparison ends

Very ironic that the Distraction parts are the most uninteresting moments on this album. Then again, Identifier is absolute nuts from beginning to end.

This didn't grab me at first but after several listens I'm beginning to think this is their strongest release. Not that they were ever strictly a clone of their influences, but this one feels the least derivative of all of their albums, and comes off as more a culmination of influences rather than a tribute. I also feel as if they cleaner moments are more seamlessly integrated, where as on Veil, for instance, they felt more like distracting interludes.
Woolgatherer and Identifier especially are just straight up ridiculously good.

‘This sounds like a post-good-era Yes CD was stuck in a shipping container with a bunch of Ghost Reverie CDs for six years‘ (2).
…except that’s a positive as long as you remove the ‘post-good’ bit, missed that 😄

I'm more keen to this than the Disney Townsend one, but still...

Yes this is superior. I think it may have peaked for me; despite my many attempts it appears the big climactic moments will ultimately outshine some of the softer builds, which is fine and perhaps expected, but they really do overstay their welcome at times. I occasionally lie dormant in wait, sometimes impatience surfaces.
lesser parts are 2.8/5
better parts are fuuuuuuck/5
allowing proper credit for some significant moments of excellence; overall 3.8/5

The album peaks too hard and too early with Woolgatherer, not sure I'm that keen on the rest.

Woolgatherer is simply the first peak of the record. Passenger is still hit or miss for me but Identifier and distraction or perfect 10s
