Pretty much. It kinda showcases all their different styles and has some of their greatest songs.

"Is Vheissu considered to be like their magnus opus?"
generally yes though there are some on this site that would say it's Beggars and probably some that would say it's actually Illusion of Safety (those people are the most wrong)

I had my issues with his vocals and just in general didn't feel like it made good effort to establish an emotional connection. So if the vocals changed on their later work, that will improve it's chances alot, actually.

Dustin's vocals have changed significantly since Vheissu and are probably the one thing this band has that improves with every release.

This has been growing on me after a few more spins. One thing is super apparent; Eddie and Riley do a lot of the heavy lifting on this. They’ve been the most consistently great part of the band IMO. I hate to say it, but it feels like Teppei has been asleep at the wheel for the last few albums.

Beggars is nowhere near Vheissu's level. Now that is some bs, I don't care how you spin it.

Vheissu shits on Beggars. Begggars should’ve been an ep

Never listened to those guys, this is my entry to the band. Getting some Deftones and Failure (to a lesser extent) vibes, it's not bad at all.
From what I could hear from their "golden era" on Spotify, that wouldn't be my cup of tea at all. It sounds extremely dated, your typical early 2000s indie rock - bleh.

Vheissu is typical indie rock? Fuck outta hereeeeee

Listening to Vheissu now actually, no, that statement does not apply.
I'll lend an hear to TAITA and illusion of safety to confirm that I did not have a massive brain fart there.

Yes
I've listened to this 5 times and I just don't get it

Album Rating: 2.5
i've heard it 2.5 times, which is beyond sufficient for me to say it's weak af. the 4s and 4.5s are very puzzling to me. even if i were a diehard thrice fan i doubt i'd be able to dig deep for reasons to justify a 4+ rating
