M/M truly is one of the most disappointing albums I have personally listened to, my hype was at an all time high and I got Creed
anyway Dustin confirmed H/West just now:
" It’s also sort of a bookend with the first song on the record. This was not totally intentional, but that image of the last line of the record is “new grass beneath black skies.” At the end of the first part of the first song, it’s the character emerging into this pre-dawn with grass beneath their feet. So, it’s looking back to that. For me, that image is very much about the possibility and hope that something new is coming.
It has a feeling like it’s leading into something. Yes, it’s leading into what will end up being Horizons/West. I don’t know when that will come up, but it’s partially completed and written. We’ll be finishing that up later this year and early next year. Yes, I mean, it’ll be a companion record. Most of it will have been written in the same period. Some of it was even recorded simultaneously"

Beggars fucking sucks. M/M isn't good either, and neither is this. They've made like 3 or 4 good songs in the last decade

M/M is okay but to me it's pretty close to TBEITBN, and I actually prefer the latter because is a bit more varied. Both albums have plenty of dull moments, though.

Only had time right now to listen from beginning to Still Life but I fucking love this so far. Might be a 4.5 for me IF it keeps up the quality, but I don’t see this as being anything less than a 4. Will check the rest on my way to work later.
Definitely their best since M/M

Vheissu > Alchemy > Beggars > MM > Palms > TBEITBN = H/E
Their oldest three albums feel like a totally different band so they're just in their own tier: AitA > IoS > IC

Kinda crazy how completely different this band can sound from record to record.

Those stack harmonies give me some strong manchester orchestra vibes. This is such a nice mature step for the band. Everything is beautifully tempered. Also this is hands down Riley's best drumming to date album wise. Everything is so intricate, creative, yet in the pocket contributing perfectly to ebb and flows of all these songs. Really glad they took the time with this.

Band is straight up boring at this point post-hiatus. Still appreciate and love them, especially their older tunes, but I do not understand any continued praises.
