I am not sure of my Killers ranking anymore but Sam's Town is still definitely number 1.

What is everybody hearing here? It's so boring. Haven't managed to get through it on two listens so far.

"I don't like Springsteen much but I like this a lot"

Great review! I can understand the hype, but I'm just not that enthusiastic about it. It sounds fine, and the lyrics are great, just nothings really hitting me sadly. I prefer Imploding The Mirage, personally. Will keep on spinning, maybe it will click.

I think growing up in a town a lot like Nephi helps you appreciate this a lot more than if you grew up in an urban area or more populated suburb. Some of this sounds exactly like my hometown and makes me get nostalgic for that reason, even if I haven't lived there in over a decade.

I spent a lot of my childhood in a small approx 2000 people population English village surrounded by farmland and yet I still can't get into The Wurzels damn it

the perfect killers album would be if the band wrote and recorded without brandon, had him come in with his pages of lyrics, hit him on the head with a guitar and give him a concussion and steal/burn those pages of lyrics, and then throw him in the vocal booth with lyrics that the other band members wrote.

very skeptical of this high praise but we will see when I check it out later, I've always disliked this guys wannabe bruce springsteen style. Even to the point that I prefer the debut album

I don't think this has been mentioned once in this entire thread so far, and I regret not fitting it into my review, but how about that mini-eruption at the end of Desperate Things? It's such a tease, but also shows the kind of restraint that this band has never been able to pull off in the past. I love it.
